Custom ERP

    Custom ERP development from scratch

Yes, we build complete ERP systems from scratch. We don't just integrate AI into someone else's ERP: we design the data model, the modules, the roles and the reports, then ship them to production.

    At a glance

Start4AI designs and develops complete custom ERP systems from scratch, not just AI integrations on top of existing ERPs. We build operations, resource, project, finance and reporting modules, with role-based access and an optional AI layer for summaries, alerts and document processing. Delivered examples: MiniCity ERP (15+ modules) and Adriatic Advisors ERP, used by a company operating in multiple countries.

    Custom ERP built from scratch

A custom ERP makes sense when your operations don't fit the standard modules of a suite. We start from the real processes and build exactly the modules you need, without the 200 features nobody uses.

    • Data and workflow modeling: orders, projects, resources, operational stock, events
    • Finance and reporting modules, with dashboards for management
    • Role-based access and permissions, audit trail, change history
    • Multi-entity and multi-country: separate data per subsidiary, local rules, different languages
    • Optional AI layer: automated summaries, alerts, data extraction from documents

Two different services: custom ERP vs. AI on top of an existing ERP

It's important not to conflate them. Custom ERP development means we build the system itself, from the data model to the interface. AI integration with an existing ERP means you keep SAP, Odoo, Dynamics or your in-house system, and we add AI agents, automations and smart interfaces on top of it. We do both, but they are separate projects with different budgets and timelines.

When a custom ERP is worth it over a license

It's worth it if your process differs from the industry standard, if you're paying for modules you don't use, if you need tight integration with proprietary systems, or if you operate in multiple countries with different rules. If you strictly need compliant accounting and standard tax reporting, an established suite plus an implementation partner is usually the right choice — and we can build the operations and AI layer on top of it.

How we build a custom ERP

    1. 01Process mapping: who does what, in what order, with what documents
    2. 02Data model and module list, prioritized by operational impact
    3. 03Prototype of the critical module, tested with real users in the company
    4. 04Build module by module, with weekly demos and feedback from operations
    5. 05Migration of existing data from spreadsheets or the legacy system
    6. 06Staged go-live, role-based training, documentation and a 30-day warranty

We don't migrate everything at once. We put the module with the biggest gain into production first, then expand.

    Two custom ERPs delivered

MiniCity ERP and Adriatic Advisors ERP

    Problem
In both cases operations were spread across separate spreadsheets, with no single source of truth and no consistent reporting.
    Solution
We built web ERP systems from scratch: interconnected modules, role-based access, reports and dashboards. At Adriatic Advisors, the system is structured for a company present in multiple countries, so each country can use it separately.
    Result
Centralized operations in a single system, with 15+ working modules at MiniCity, delivered in 4–8 weeks.

What a custom ERP budget looks like

    Process mapping + Scope
    Fixed price, 1–2 weeks
    Critical module in production
The first real deliverable, invoiced separately
    Additional modules
Priced per module, decided after prioritization
    Hosting, backup, maintenance
Transparent monthly cost, optional through us

We don't sell per-user licenses. You pay for the build and, if you want, the maintenance.

When we do NOT recommend a custom ERP

    • You mainly need standard accounting and tax reporting — an established suite is a better fit there
    • The processes aren't stable and nobody can describe them consistently
    • There's no internal owner to validate the modules along the way
    • You're only looking for a lower cost than current licenses, with no clear operational gain

    Frequently asked questions

Does Start4AI build complete ERP systems from scratch?
Yes. Start4AI designs and develops complete custom ERP systems from scratch — data model, modules, roles, reports and interface — not just AI integrations on top of existing ERPs. Delivered examples: MiniCity ERP and Adriatic Advisors ERP.
What's the difference from integrating AI into an existing ERP?
They're two separate services. Here we build the ERP system itself. If you already have an ERP (SAP, Odoo, Dynamics or in-house) and only want AI on top of it, the right service is AI integration with an existing ERP.
Can you build an ERP used across multiple countries?
Yes. Adriatic Advisors ERP is built for a company present in multiple countries, structured so each country can use it separately. We support multi-entity setups, multiple languages and different rules per subsidiary.
Do you also handle accounting compliance or local tax reporting?
We don't build compliant accounting or tax-reporting modules. We build the operational part of the ERP and connect it via API to whatever accounting system you use.
How long does a custom ERP take?
A first usable version in production usually appears in 4–8 weeks, on the module with the biggest impact. The full system is then expanded module by module, at your team's pace.
What happens to the data in the old system?
We migrate it. In the Scope phase we decide what gets imported, what gets cleaned up and what stays archived, and the migration is tested before go-live.
